If you came to the blog yesterday, you saw this…
I have committed to shut down my blog every third Thursday of the month and pray with bloggers–and readers–from around the nation (and hopefully the world!). Each month, I will be posting a prayer prompt for the entire day, so that you can join us in praying for revival in our own hearts and in the hearts of our leaders.
Why a Black Out?
We have been instructed to pray several times in the Bible, especially our leaders. I personally need the accountability to stay motivated to do this on a regular basis. Along with this, I want to encourage and inspire you, as my friends and fellow sisters in Christ, to do the same. Think of the hearts that could be changed if we all pray in agreement. That’s what this nation really needs–a change of heart. It’s what we all need.
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” –1 Timothy 2:1-4
If you are a blogger… We would love to have your participate in the Prayer Black Out every month. You can find the Leigh Ann’s explanation of why we are doing this here. Also, Nikki made a tutorial of how to create a static page to participate, which you can find here.
If you are a reader… Come by the blog on the third Thursday of each month for the prayer prompt and join us in praying for one another, for our leaders, for revival.
What About the Link-Up?
From now on, the Thrive @ Home Link-Up will be posted on Friday during the third week of the month. This will enable all of us to participate in the Prayer Black Out and still enjoy the community and encouragement we enjoy with other Thrivers every week.
So, without further ado…
