Last week I shared that some days as a mom are really difficult. I think one of the things that causes us to get desperate as moms is that our expectations are not what they should be. Often we need resources to help us understand what to expect.

Being a mom (or soon-to-be mom) can have it’s share of worries, fears and expectations. One thing that helped me feel more prepared as a mother, especially when I was pregnant, was reading What to Expect books. These practical guides for different seasons of motherhood are a wonderful resource for many women.
What to Expect Before You’re Expecting
is an informative book that covers health, preparing your body for pregnancy, fertility and many other useful topics. I personally didn’t use this book before getting pregnant since we were surprised with our pregnancy, but it looks to be a great help for those that are trying to conceive. (Who knows, maybe I’ll be using it in the future!
)
When I found out I was pregnant over 2 years ago, What to Expect When You’re Expecting
was the first book I bought. I literally went to the bookstore on my way home from the doctor’s visit that confirmed my pregnancy and bought this book. Throughout my pregnancy is was a comfort to see what I was experiencing what normal or what I should plan to experience in the near future. The book, as well as WhatToExpect.com, was also helpful in determining that I was having pre-term labor and that I needed to call my doctor. I highly recommend it to anyone that is pregnant or planning to have children in the near future.
Coming home and taking care of your little bundle of joy can seem like a daunting task, especially to new moms. What to Expect the First Year
is a month-by-month guide of the first year of a baby’s life. I found it fun to look at the “milestones” of each month and see how my daughter was doing. It also had helpful health-related information in it that kept me from calling the doctor about everything. (I’m sure she appreciate that!)

Hi Jenni
I am the mom of two grown men, aged 23 and 20. When I saw the picture of you with your bundle of joy, I realized that I couldn’t wait for my grandchildren to arrive. They are both still studying, so I have a few years to wait still. Nice meeting you at GraceLaced.
Hugs to you
