For some reason I’ve felt a bit apprehensive about making goals this year. Maybe it’s because last year (okay, more like the past couple of years!) I’ve been in survival mode. Because of this, I’ve had a defeated attitude and just let life happen instead of relying on God’s strength and grace, rolling up my sleeves and doing the planning and hard work that needs to be done in order live purposefully. This year that is going to change!
I decided to join thousands of people in choosing one word to focus on during the year–a word that will define my hope for 2016 and motivate me to make small, short-term goals (baby steps!) toward intentional living. The word I chose for this year is…
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” -Ephesians 5:15-17
My over-arching goal for every year is to grow in each area of my life. By the end of this year, I want to be able to point out specific ways I’ve grown in my faith and roles as a wife, mother, homemaker and writer. In order to do this, I need to seek God’s will, rely on His strength and be purposeful in my actions.
I hope to share the steps I take each month as motivation to stay focused this year and to inspire you in your own journey of purposefully cultivating a joyful, simple life. Be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already! 🙂
