I have to admit that books and songs that romanticize the Christmas story sometimes make me snicker a bit. Do you know which ones I’m talking about? They imply that Baby Jesus didn’t cry or depict a Pinterest-worthy picture of the Nativity scene. They are sweet and have their place, but there is so much more to it!

As we look forward to the celebration of Jesus’ birth this month I wanted to cultivate a sense of wonder by focusing on some of the names of Christ. Isaiah 9:6 gives a wonderful glimpse of the powerful role of the Jesus, so this is the verse I chose to memorize during the month of December.
If you would like to join me in memorizing this Scripture passage, download and print off the verse to display it somewhere in your home.

What an amazing thing it is to reflect on the fact that the fullness of God and all of His attributes are embodied in this Baby born in stable in the small town of Bethlehem. May your heart be filled with wonder as you focus on the awe-inspiring Savior that we are celebrating this Christmas season.
