It’s that time of year again! If you’re anything like me–a bit of a procrastinator–you may have just started planning what you are going to do this Christmas. In order to help you have a joyful and simple season, I’m sharing four super easy and creative DIY Advent calendars that you could probably put together in an afternoon. Nobody will ever know you didn’t plan ahead. Your secret is safe with me! 😉
My Favorite Last Minute Advent Calendar Ideas
- Advent Calendar in a Bag – This is a super easy and cute idea from Gospel Homemaking and would be a fun way to count down the days to Christmas.
- Clothespin Advent Calendar – I love this frugal idea by Leigh Ann at Intentional By Grace. Her post also includes activity ideas with a free printable!
- Muffin Tin Advent Calendar – There are several of different tutorials on Pinterest for these, but this is the first one I ever saw and thought it was such a neat idea.
- True Story of Christmas Advent Calendar – I always appreciate anything that helps parents share the the simple message of the Gospel with their children, so this one really impressed me.
Along with an Advent calendar, you may be interested in using the Christmas curriculum I put together for family devotions or Sunday School to help you share the “reason for the season” with young children.
I hope some of these ideas will help you have a Christmas season filled with joy and peace as we prepare to celebrate the greatest gift of all–our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
