The ABC’s for Godly Children Review and Giveaway

Today I am delighted to introduce you to The ABC’s for Godly Children Curriculum. I have had my eye on this downloadable and printable curriculum for awhile, so when Lindsey approached me about reviewing it, I jumped at the opportunity!

“Teaching godly children about the God they serve and how to have a heart like His.”

I am an avid promoter of teaching children of any age Biblical doctrine and theology in order for them to have a solid foundation to their beliefs. I also believe character training is crucial to any discipline style to allow little ones to begin to understand their fallen nature and the characteristics that they must begin to develop. For that reason, I can highly recommend The ABC’s for Godly Children curriculum.

This curriculum is sold separately for girls and boys, but you can also purchase a bundle that contains one of each. While some of the doctrines taught are the same in both the girl and boy curriculum (for example: God, salvation, etc), there are different character traits that are focused on depending on the gender to highlight specific characteristics children need to learn for Biblical boyhood and girlhood (and eventually manhood and womanhood!) Because of this, you can use some of the curriculum with boys and girls together but the majority of the lessons will be different.

What is included in each curriculum set?

A Lesson Plan Handbook, which contains the following for each letter/character trait:

    • Primary Bible Memory Verse
    • Bonus Bible Verses
    • Key Bible Character
    • A Lesson
    • Activity Prompt
    • Craft Idea

26 Flashcards with corresponding character trait or doctrinal theme. (See sample below)

The curriculum also includes:

    • Hiding God’s Word In My Heart Worksheets (one worksheet for each lesson to practice writing and memorizing the primary Bible verse)
    • Godly Virtues BINGO Game (for up to four players)
    • The Path To Salvation Maze (a fun, colorful maze leading your child on a Scriptural journey to salvation).

I really appreciate how each lesson is very thorough and has a variety of information and ideas. There are so many different ways you can use the curriculum! Depending on your child’s age and your situation, you can pick and choose how much or little you want to cover.

While The ABC’s for Godly Children makes a wonderful homeschool Bible curriculum for elementary school-aged kids, it is versatile enough to use for preschool or even in a Sunday School class if you wanted to. I am truly looking forward to using this curriculum in the near future with my daughter.
